Our History
Toberdoney Presbyterian Church was formed in 1810 as a Seceder Church as part of the Associate Presbytery. It was built in 1813 and joined the new synod of Protestors in 1821.
The first minister was Rev. John Millar who was ordained on 13 July 1828 by Ayr Presbytery.
The church joined the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland in 1956 during the ministry of Rev. James Beggs. The following year it was joined with Croaghmore, on 30 September 1957. After almost 50 years, Croaghmore was joined with Ballycastle and Toberdoney was joined with Mosside. This happened on 1 June 2002 and Toberdoney and Mosside continue to remain linked.
Their current minister, Rev. Dr. André Alves-Areias was ordained and installed as minister of Toberdoney and Mosside on 9 November 2019.
